When the Portuguese met all people's in the world centuries ago, it was extremely strong for all human civilization. Fado is but a small reminder.

Lisboa was a melting pot of black, jewish, moorish, american indians, indians and arabs alongside peoples from all Europe.

Cesária Évora is not a Fadista, she sings a type of music called the morna. The traditional music of Cape Verde. It is a mixture of Bolero and Fado and she sings it well.
