Vegan Video

Dan Piraro from www.bizarro.com masterfully made this really awesome video. It's a talking pig that explains why eating meat is bad for you.

Anyway, that is my ramble, thanks for allowing me the stage and being patient-- to whomever is still conscious at this point.

The lack of needing to compensate for the lack of inherent enzymes in the cooking of food is something I experienced when on a raw fruitarian/vegan regimen. I have actually tested how my body feels when consuming cooked foods including cooked meat-- I notice a 'dramatic' difference. It amazes me how people accept this as normal. There is a clear bodily reaction to consuming things that have been heated. The body must deal with the various by-products and lack of inherent enzymes.

I feel very good physically and would have to admit that I feel better than at any point in my life. Digestion has completely healed. I have no sign of IBS. My energy levels are consistent. I now backpack and trail run considerable distance w/o fatigue. I generally sleep 5-8 hours (and at other times I get very little sleep), and feel just fine w/ this level of rest (obviously much energy is relieved from not having to process cooked foods).

I did not begin incorporating meat until I stabilized at this weight. Over the course of a year, after achieving such a weight and considerable strength and redevelopment of muscle (from basically no muscle at all-- I looked like a holocaust victim prior to this), I developed a number of rashes and slight colds (after not being sick for close to 4 years). After each of these colds I felt much better than prior to getting sick.

Over the period of a month and a half I was amazed at the efficacy of such an approach and felt wonderful for finally having regained digestion even if still somewhat sup-optimal.

I continued on with increasing levels of strength and redevelopment of muscle although slow initially. Over many months, putting on close to 10lbs. per month I achieved a weight of 165lbs.

By this point my digestion was decent.
