  • one of the great pleasures was being able to become acquainted w/GPN's music while working temporarily in San Antonio. great songwriter. I love these small venues and was amazed at how I was able to see so many(Texas Tornadoes w/Freddy and Doug, Asleep at the Wheel, jerry jeff walker, and Gary P) in small 'dance halls' (I think that was what they were referred to). thanks for posting. made me smile.

  • @Caseysmom2

    Even though I live in Japan, I've had the pleasure of seeing him "live" 3 times over the past couple decades. GPN rocks ! Thanks for your nice comment...

  • I went to GPN's official website today, and visited. His bio is an interesting read, too. (He's had so many awards, etc, for his contributions to Country music.

    Go diggin' for his info. This man was, is, and will always be the bomb! A very cool success story. Long live Gary P. Nunn!

    {{{cheers!}}}

  • I couldn't agree with you more. My only regret is that I've only seen him "live" 3 times in my entire lifetime.... :-)

  • I love this song

    and I love Lone Star Beer!

  • Me too. Be sure to check out "What I like about Texas," another Gary P. Nunn classic.

    Thanks for stopping by...

  • I agree, it's a great song. But by far my favorite GPN "Texas" song is "What I Like about Texas," which you can find searching here at YouTube.

    Thanks for stopping by...

  • I can't believe that Gary P. Nunn recorded this song. When I first heard it, I thought it was a Lone Star commercial. I love songs about Texas, but this song is so generic and cheesy, and mentioning a brand of beer that many times in a song is LAME
