This is a rough edit of a film submission that I never completed for the National Film Board of Canada's Make Shorts, Not War contest.
This short is dedicated in remembrance of Canadian troops of yore who sacrificed their lives for peace; lest we forget.
The footage is all copyright of the NFB of Canada. The music is from the Titanic soundtrack.

Instead of a moment of silence, I had a six minute, fourteen second moment of silence. Knowing most of those men were far tougher and braver than I am is very humbling.

I cry everytime i see this footage, just having the feeling they all passed for our freedom! God bless them, I hope there living in paradise right now! Proud to be canadian!

You can get these clips and stills at Veterans Affairs Canada and the Canadian War Museum site. Whether or not you can use them here?? Don't know.

That War never should have happened. In the end, what did they really achieve? I had a Great Uncle, god rest his soul, who fought in WWI.

Now being Canadian, Do not take offence to it, now if he was S.S, I would feel different. but where its Wehrmacht and not the Schutzstaffel, the Wehrmacht faught for their country and didnt really have a choice other then to fight. same as in WWI on Christmas when both sides stopped fighting and sang songs. There is no real hard feelings between the soldiers just the politicians controlling them.

They were part of a contest by the National Film Board of Canada. I doubt they are still available, but if you want them I'm sure you can figure out how to download this video from YouTube.
