Here in Canada I have met and worked retail with many young women. After 9/11 many are afraid to share things about their culture. I have however seen bits and pieces. These young women are often very Canadian but they are expected to not date or speak back. That is what makes me afraid. What are they hiding?

Thank God for Nawal. It cannot be overstated how inspiring and important you are.
My grandmother was taken out of medical school in Cairo to marry my grandfather. What a conundrum! Had she continued and become a doctor, maybe I wouldn't be here. How then can I defecate, like so many of my generation, on her struggle????
