Recovered a small gold nugget from a very mineralized gold nugget patch using the new Minelab GPX-4500 metal detector.

  • Hello Mini4x4, Hahah ... I hate to laugh, but have to on that comment. If you think you can find small gold nuggets, especially in mineralized areas with a $50 metal detector we all would be doing it. Just goes to show "it's not true!"

You don't have to purchase the most expensive one to start, but if you're going to nuggetshoot you need a good "VLF gold nugget" metal detector, not some $50 coin/relic hunter you can get from a garage sale or Radio shack.

    Just my opinion.

  • @Nuggethunting whats the cheapest detector that will do the job in locating small nuggets. Can I get one for $1000?

  • You can, Go buy a used detector from a second hand store or garage sale for $50 or less and start working your way up. I own many detector and started with a kids metal detector that cost $17 at a second hand store

  • super little nugget! more luck to you!

  • Nice
