Backpacking India (Part 6: Rishikesh and Chandigarh)

After all the noise and craziness of Varanasi we headed to Rishikesh in the state of Uttarakhand, a quaint town north of Delhi. A hippie hangout, it also has a lot of nature to enjoy and offered a very welcome change of pace, and some unwelcome hasheads.
When that wore off we made a short call in Chandigarh, a throughly un-Indian city that seems more like something from America rather than the Subcontinent. There we bummed around the famous Rock Garden - a public park made out of various recycled construction materials.

@dakulol Two months is plenty good, you will see heaps if stuff. Every other village has some sort of festival or other celebration, just keep moving and you will see plenty of good stuff.

Whenever I see a foreigner visiting India, I go in my mind........errrr why?

Not that I don't want foreigners to go there, it's just that for most of them the environment there is kind of strange. Most can't even cross busy streets let alone other things.

Most foreigners go to Jaipur, Udaipur but I would highly recommend Goa and Kerala( for backwaters). i havn't been there but its's better than most other places.

And of course I recommend Chandigarh ( the best place to be, in India :P )

It can be VERY strange, but this is precisely why people go. To experience something different. India, in my experience, is so completely unlike any other country. It can be great and it can be bewildering. It can be wonderful and it can be disgusting. It offers a full span of emotion and experience, and it certainly offers a lot of lessons about humanity. Both good, and bad.

I hope my videos show the schizophrenia of traveling in India. One day is great, another is nothing but curses...

Rishikesh was the best place I visited in India. Very clean(ish) compared to a lot of other places. And while very touristy, still chill as hell.

I see you also went to 'Paradise', best cafe ever. Was 'Brother' there when you visited?
