Zenyatta dancing in Apple Blossom post parade (4/9/10)

This is my original footage which has appeared in "The Huffington Report" as well as numerous video tributes to Zenyatta.

NOTE: If you don't like the sound, you are able to turn it off on your computer. Thanks.

This movie is part of a project I am making called "Desperately Seeking Zenyatta" (link: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/p...
It details my vacation to Hot Springs, Arkansas to see the Apple Blossom and Arkansas Derby horse races. I have been following and photographing the undefeated champion mare as she prepares for a bid to tie Citation and Cigar's unbeaten 16 win streak.

I am an artist and aspiring fiction and turf writer. I use my pictures as inspiration for drawings, paintings, and stories. I have been making art and writing stories since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and have been following horse racing for nearly as long. I grew up in the Louisville, KY area and the Kentucky Derby was a major event. I love all types of horses and horse sports, but Thoroughbred racing is my favorite. Zenyatta is my favorite horse still racing; other favorites are Ruffian, Forego, and Kelso.

  • Thanks so much for sharing moonwalker. I love the enthusiasm.

  • @kzanika Do you know anything about horses? Seriously? Because if she was tying up, she wouldnt be acting this way. Tying up is PAINFUL, and they do NOT want to move. Remember Life at Ten? Now SHE tied up. Make sure you know what you are talking about before you open your mouth.

  • She would be a good dressage horse... :)

  • This fucking Zenyatta is an amazon.

Check out the 1:15 mark of this video. She makes the lead pony look like a Shetland pony.

  • @dancingbrave24 uh....No but these ladies where very excited weren't they! Make yourself seem just a little smarter and don't generalize. You have just the same amount of Americans who don't say a word and are calm. This video in my opinion is just pure excitement......annoying to me but you can't blame them......Zenyatta is a very special horse. It's not all about her wins ....they or more like "we" love her personality and spunk. Btw where are you from?

  • americans are so over the top

  • This is so awesome. My horse does this dance too when we're done working and it's funny cause she is pretty closely related to Zenyatta. :)

Loved this clip, thanks for sharing.

  • I wanna know who that fine looking buckskin pony horse next to her is...

  • she is a beauty

  • Zenyatta could be a dressage horse! XD

  • @RuffianQueenOfRacing

Not all horses are affected by it, some passively ignore it like Ruffian did. But don't you think it says something when she constantly had sound muffling cotton in her ears, and Mike Smith would order the crowd to shush so she wouldn't get all wired up. She only faced Males 2 times in her career, so I doubt she was calling for a mate. You will see in her pre-race coverage she dd it constantly, long before the BCC. Go For Wand never faced males.

  • @queenluciaa no she hasnt, she never started "dancing" until she started facing the boys, now THAT is a fact, dont you know int he wild a female horse will strut around to get the males attention! Go For Wand used to do it!

and if she was nervous because of big crouds then why didnt Ruffian do it? when her crouds were just as abig, if not bigger?
