Donkey Kong with rarely seen intro screen on Atari XEGS

I didn't even think the Atari 8-bit computer version had the intro screen until someone else online mentioned it. There's a little trick to seeing it, which I explain in the video. Plus, this version is notoriously difficult, but you keep coming back for more because it's so fun to play.

That's because this is not a "port" of the arcade game. One of the original Atari programmers wrote in his blog that Nintendo didn't give Atari any source code for Donkey Kong; the programmers had to buy their own arcade console, and just play it enough to memorize how the game works, and then try to duplicate it on the Atari computer. That also probably explains why this version is so difficult, because the programmers had become experts at playing it!

Wow...I haven't seen this in a long time ;) lol...Is that trick still available in the 1st level? To jump to the 2nd...I don't remember much how you do it but it had something to do with the 1st ladder...you run thru it and jump back on it...and boom it throws you in the 2nd level..not sure if it was the 1st ladder or second...
