This is Mark with Zapata in second place of the last race at Roebling Road. Listen close and you can hear his rear axle snap. At that point he can't do anything but hold on. Mark is fine. This is a good reason to over build safety into any racecar.
We are making a Documentary movie about vintage racing. Go to
www.vintageracingtoday.com for more info. It comes out Summer 2012.

We are following six drivers from Nashville for a year making a film about Vintage Racing. Mark the driver in this video is one of those drivers. Go to www.vintageracingtoday.com to see the movie trailer.

I do a little. I know the engine is a 850cc Renault. I will see him this weekend and ask him.

WOW that is an amazingly built roll cage! Maybe it isn't so amazing to those who build them, but i hope myn will be built to that quality!

Was that really an ex Group 44 car?

I raced Spitfires years ago. I'd suspect a broken rear axle?

My husband and I are vintage racers and were there. We hauled the abandoned crumpled hood home in our Mac truck - it's now racing memorabilia hanging form the rafters in the warehouse where we work on our cars :)
