The parish Solemn High Mass for 2009 for the Feast of the Nativity at St. John's Church in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Part 11 begins with the electric lights being extinguished, and hand-tapers lit, and the singing of "Silent Night" (soloist Karen Corcoran). The three sacred ministers then return to the High Altar, lights re-turned on, and retired assistant Fr. Michael Bedford administers the Christmas Blessing. After the dismissal and as the final hymn is introduced the priest and altar party reads the last Gospel (John 1) soto voce. Unfortunately the tape ran out after the first verse of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"
