Wider is better.

I remember this commercial! I immediately went out and bought a sandwich in my Mustang!

My dad had 2 of these god damn things back in 1992. bothe pale yellow with the wood grain sides and the chrome rims.....IOt was so embarrasing getting a drive to school in a fish tank...lol. Now I wish I could get one for myself.

I remember a guy who lived in my area driving around back then with plastic lemons hanging in the back window with a little sign disparaging the local dealer.
Apparently he was not a happy AMC customer.

I remember this commercial. Nowadays, whenever I think of a Pacer, I think of the movie, "Wayne's World."

@red54321dy The matador (along with the pacer and others) was never a good thing for AMC's (let alone anyone else's) future. Thats because by the late 1980's AMC would fade into obscurity like a classic pop star / Hollywood celebrity, never to rise again...

I've been looking for this.

The guy at 0:54 is like "dear god that is the most hideous thing I have seen in my whole life". No doubt thats how many rich people will react whenever they see a Pacer...

My first car (in 1981) was an 1977 burnt brown Pacer. Everyone called it a Moon Buggy, but I loved it! It had an aftermarket 8 track player (didnt know what those were) and towards the end, the engine would just cut off! I hated to let it go! It made me popular in my small town!
The Pacer has a 22 gallon fuel tank, I bought one because of gas rationing fears in the late 70's. Still have the car, it runs well, but just a weekend joy ride car now.
