  • @fillosofert Russia developed the TOKAMAK, a nuclear fusion reactor that helped to revolutionized how power is generated.

  • What a great trip. His friends should not be embarrassed, we were raised to be enemies. If Russians were in America back then I would have been suspicious of them too! :) I can't wait to see the 2008 version they have in the sidebar, to see how things have changed. It would be a lot of fun to take that trip and meet all those people.

  • @fillosofert You dont seem to know much about culture. Russia has been the center of creativity for the 20th century. The Sovjet made a high priority of supporting art, much more than any western country do today. Thats why all the greatest composers, poets and musicians of the 20th century were all russians. Though political censur have been working against creativity, the economical support of art in Russia have been more crucial for the independency of creative thinking.

  • and bigger than bel...? :D

  • 5:26 ...wow that typical music ...why don't they just say "ching chong ching chong!?" I mean this docu is great for the inside glimpse in the railway which is my life long dream to travel on but they are so culturally biased and un-PC ... PBS produced this??? I'd love to see a russian production of a documentary on the same subject... just to hear it from their side! (don't worry, I still thumb it up for your posting it. spasiba)

  • @fillosofert I have never heard something more ridicules, ironic and ignorant in my life, Russians have invented some of the most important and durable, innovative technology in history like the satellite and they even put the first man in to space, they have a giant Slavic culture and history full of creativity and art dating back thousands of years before your American colony was even established. The West is also creative but it’s not fair to say that it’s more creative then the East.

  • @kalasnikov47 You seem to forget that the Western world have been a magnificent hub of innovation for more than 500 years. Yes Russian are tough people, they can fight, but you are hardly innovative and tecnologically advanced. Russian culture has got too much coruption and not enough resepect for creativity. What the Western world has got is creativity.

  • @InuyashaKnight I hate them too :-)

  • I can't understand why they're using Caucasian (the Caucasus) music? Siberia and Caucasus are two different "points"on the map of Russia... 01:15

  • Good thing the Russians beat the Americans to space, eh narrator?
