i had fun with a long-nose in joshua tree earlier this year. I used a fishing pole and some type of thin rope. getting the noose around his neck (yes, it was a male) wasn't much of a problem, but when he started to run, the knot either came undone, or the rope itself actually broke! this guy, including tail, was a good estimated 16+ inches or so. I was able to make multiple trials since he was still sluggish from the cold. One of my favorite catches of the trip! (other was a desert iggy)
