It's hard to compare different aircraft at times. I mean in the hands of a Russian pilot the MIG-21 was a great platform. However, in the hands of some third world half-assed trained pilot it was garbage. The same could be said for some American aircraft. I try to be fair, I fail at times but I do try. I'm not going to apologize for loving America. That said I'm kinda partial to the French Mirage.

@Ouija121085 You would also have to re-do the flight surface control system. While the MIG21 had a tight higher speed turning radius, you had to be Hurcules to operate at its limits.

And you need to re-read my post, the F-16 is smaller, weighs less, and can pull turns in EXCESS of 9 g's...in other words the F-16 can MAKE the pilot black out it turns so fast.With the same top speeds and comparable electronics unless the MiG is undetected and completely surprises the F-16 somehow,the F-16 will win because it is a better dogfighter.The Mig is still a threat wih long range missiles but in a dogfight the Falcon will whip that Mig like a pitbull with a chihuahua

@surfgodx no matter how many times i emphisize the point of upgrades here you seem to lack the ability to understand where i am coming from. MiG21 is an obsolete plane, when it first came out it was the best fighter jet in the world and had this title for a long time. it;s excellent service and capability allowed it to be in active service with many countries until 2000 and some even use it today. Upgraded MiG21 will be a threat to modern aircraft and a real one.

@Ouija121085 F-16s were designed as an air superiority fighter but was adapted as a multi-role platform after it was used by Israelis as a fighter bomber in 1981 with great success. The F-16 can pull 9-g turns...I think the MiG can do 7 or 8gs. So they have about the same speed but the F-16 is smaller and can outmaneuver the Mig.Being proud of the MiG-21 is deserved,it was/is an amazing plane...but realistically the F-16 will tear it a new asshole no matter how advanced the electronics

@Runol1st MiG21 is an obsolete craft, it has been oboslete for a long time now. That being said when it frist appeared in the sky it was the best thing in the air human hands ever made. It was superior to any craft existant at that time. This is why MiG21 has been in service with some countries up to year 2000. Furthermore this excellence of aircraft has promted some usesrs to upgrade modern radar, weapons, avionics, engines and captalise on excellent design.

@surfgodx Furthermore even the old MiG21 is more then enough of a challenge for F16 which is a fighter/bomber while 21 was bread to be airsuperiority fighter. Big difference. F16 with more modern tech would have an advantage sure, but put them with MiG21 with up to date or same level of upgrades such as modren F16 it becomes very viable, specially that mig 21 is very agile and proven aircraft.
