Did You Hear John Hurt? Tom Paxton Cherry Lane Music Pub. Arr. Dave Van Ronk Performed by Flyhaf Heard this song on Pandora.com, and couldn't get it out of my head, like. Performed by Flyhaf
Just discovered you after searching for Kelly Joe Phelps videos. You're wonderful! Do you have any tour dates coming up? Please consider playing at Space in Evanston, IL. It's a great little music venue. Sits about 250.
I was there with her when she shook his hand. I was 21 then.
He said, "I'm pleased to meet you Mam."
Taj Mahal was hanging around.
The first time I hear this song on Howard and Roz Larman's radio show I cried. My dear husband said, "Grandma didn't go because she liked the music. She went because she loved you."
this is real, very real. I love playing his 'creole bell', and YES i heard him play his CANDYMAN. man, what more can i say, TOM PAXSON put things together what JOHN HURT liked to play in those days.
I found this song on a Cd I grabbed by random accident by Doc Watson on the album called sitting here playing the blues.
I thought the title of the album sounded nice. This song is actually how I found out about legendary Missisippi John Hurt. Of Course I am forever thankful. One day I might be able to play a lacked version of this.

My Grandma was born in 1893. he died in 1978.
I was there with her when she shook his hand. I was 21 then.
He said, "I'm pleased to meet you Mam."
Taj Mahal was hanging around.
