Johnny Riche interviews Mr. Dibbs when the hip hop group Atmosphere plays at the Vans Warped Tour in Salt Lake City, Utah on the TV series 3point2 Percent. From the 3point2 Percent 1st season "Murray" episode 3. Johnny caught a lot of flack for the introduction of this piece, comparing Atmosphere to the Black Eyed Peas. In his defense, at that time, he hadn't heard of Atmosphere before and his way of familiarizing the viewers(Utahans), who have a lacking in the knowledge of hip hop, was by mentioning a more recognizable name, who unfortunately is synonomous with the term "hip hop" in the eyes of many unfamiliar viewers. So get over it - especially you, backpackers!!! - edited by Iosua Tai Taeoalii @ www.weirdchief.com

  • Just wanted to throw one more comment in the ring here. For those of ya runnin' your mouth about this host, I'd like to direct you to some of my other videos that I have posted and look up Johnny Riche. He's not a hip-hopper, he's a fighter, and if you have beef with him, you're welcome to watch his fight videos and challenge him in the ring. :)

  • Normally I don't waste my time w/ ignorant comments like all the ones I've been receiving from you lame-duck back-packers who think if they use the word Toy in a sentence then they've got true Beat Street Cred. But before anymore of you blaspheme the true value of hip hop, I decided I'd add my 2 cents.

  • I'm the producer of 3.2 Percent, and I would never consider myself a trendy back-packer, like these people who've wrote most of the following comments, but I've been waxin' hip hop philosophy since '87. Since then, I've grown w/ it, embraced it, and shared it. I consider myself to have a serious understanding of the underground scene, and I just wanted to point out that all you hatin' backpackers who think the hip hop scene is only for them to understand are wack.

  • This show wasn't produced for you worms, this show was produced for the majority of the people in Utah who don't know a thing about hip hop, who's only reference to hip hop comes from mainstream crap like The Black-Eyed Peas. Whether you like it or not, there are too many people out there who have never heard of Slug or Dibbs or Sage or Sole, but it's retarded to not want to share these mind-blowing artists w/ the general public.

  • After our show aired we received hundreds of emails from people who never heard of Atmosphere and after the show they went out and immediately purchased albums of theirs. See, so while you spend your minutes hatin' on people w/ an understanding of the hip hop scene and wanting to share it's value w/ the rest of the unschooled public. It's haters like you that leave a distaste in my mouth towards back-packers and self-proclaimed hip hop historians.

  • To respond to your comment about the problem w/ the internet being cuz of shows like this, well the truth is, the problem w/ the internet is that it unfortunately promotes negative users like yourself to anonymously boast and slander anyone and anything that you feel doesn't coincide w/ your own ignorant beliefs. Haters like yourself negate the true purpose of hip hop, and you carelessly prevent it from it's own ambitions. Spoken Word from the core of your own belief system.

  • shows how much you know. Black Eyed Peas have been making music for like, 20 years. They were underground a LONG while ago.

  • "He's like a young Eminem..."

They're like the same age. People only compare them because people THINK Slug is white.
