Thank you SO MUCH for this video. I watched it twice last night (until two AM) and was thrilled to see Gordon and Red and Rick at what I feel was the peak of their performance career. There is so little video (that I know of) of Lightfoot from his early days live and well recorded so this was a treat - thanks again!

@elltoft Watching my dad (Gord) play these sweet tunes moved me as well. Thanks for the upload! elltoft... we should talk! Your father was a common subject in my household growing up, as well as a very large part of my father's past!!

Red and Rick always had such a special style and ability like Maury Muehleisen did with Jim Croce to play such perfectly complimentary parts for Lightfoot. When I was younger and first heard Sunday Concert the blend was so brilliant...a perfect combination of discipline.freedom, sweetness and dynamics. This video is just proof of the magic this music holds. It's like its patiently waiting to be discovered by new ears.

bensisko16, Red Shea was a Legendary Gutarist who only made Gord better. I loved his work on guitar. Terry Clements is in the same llight. Terry was a fine lead guitarist who always hiit his marks on guitar. RIP Terry Clements.

bensisko16, this is the true beauty of YOUTUBE. So many good people sharing POSITIVE, yes, POSITIVE comments about a muscial artist we all like very much. NO harsh or disrespectful comments. No hatred, no religious chatter, nobody is right or wrong. Just simple appreciation for fine music from a fine musician, that's all. Greetings from Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.

@elltoft Hi, my name is Rob. If your father is Red Shea I have nothing to say but THANKYOU. Red Shea is a great guitarist and someone that Gord always talked about fondly. As for Terry Clements, same thing. Terry was there when Gord wrote the WRECK OF THE EDMUND FITZGERALD and those electric guitar riffs are indeed Terry's. Gordon Lightfoot (although his prime years may well be behind him, is still a legend.) Oh by the way, I used to work with the Bass Players' song Jeremiah!

This video is a true inspiration! As a just - average guitar player myself, I see Red's playing as something to try to aspire to. And Gordon's songs are so strong, they sound like an orchestra together. Thank you for posting!

Thanks 326kjk for your story about dad...it does mean something actually it means alot.

What can I say, three of the most accomplished musicians who ever played together and while Gordon was the nexus everyone appreciated Red & Terry. brings back so many sweet memories of seeing them live; right now time stands still & all is well with the world again; they'll never be forgotten, the passage of time only makes us appreciate greatness even more!
Whoever the "John" is that posted this I can't thank you enough. Watching my father (Red) play is bittersweet as I watch with tears in my eyes but extremely thankful to be able to watch such a beautiful tape of the 3 of them playing.
Even though Gord has lost 2 of his great guitar players and most recently Terry Clements who was with him for close to 40 years he is extremely fortunate to have had them.
These tapes are really precious...thanks so much.

@elltoft It was such a pleasure to be able to upload this fantastic concert. Your fathers guitar playing is unique and amazing and will go down in history as some of the greatest guitar playing ever. I am honoured that you have been so kind to make a comment on this video and I know of how proud you must feel to have such a fantastically talented father. Best wishes, John (a.k.a. Bensisko16)
