I live in n ga, near Dahlonega. Lots of old mines around. Lots of snakes too. That old place looks like it would be full of bear, snakes and other critters.

That's exciting. Have you explored the rock dumps outside the mine for signs of minerals they were after? If they were finding anything valuable, and with a hole that large I can't imagine they weren't, there should still be some of the precious ore they were after left in the dump pile. Check it out.

wow u better b careful ! that whole area ( n. GA ) is where pres. Jackson kicked the Native Americans out long ago.....of course for the gold.....but its also full of land mines from the civil war , moonshiners and assholes who hunt , make drugs, plant weed etc.....!!!

Interesting adventure. Thanks for sharing. Beginners would appreciate shots
of camp set up, cooking, water treatment etc. not a full lesson just watching it
performed in real life : )
