  • @RonanG Thanks, I'll let you know when I finally get it finished) Joe

  • @setyag Be my guest.

  • @RonanG Thanks. I took some exterior shots of the barracks - would you mind if I copy your interiors and use them in my 'film'?

  • @RonanG Thanks Ronan. I took some video myself of the Barracks but only the outside. Would you mind if I try and copy your indoor footage of the Barracks interior to add to my 'film'?

  • @Lazybetdotcom The gate is indeed all that is left of the house. The house I used in the reading is actually the interior of the Barracks where he lived with his father after the death of his mother. Hope you enjoyed your visit.

  • @RonanG Hi Ronan, I just got bcak from a short break in Leitrim and I visited John's grave and the Aughawillan School - I couldn't find Corramahon though I believe, from watching your film again, that the gate you feature a couple of times is all that is left of the house in which is his mother died?

I'm assuming the house you used so effectively in that reading of his last goodbyes to his mother was not the actual house?

    Thanks

    Joe

  • @Lazybetdotcom That's most helpful Ronan. Thank you

  • @Lazybetdotcom He based it mainly around his home near Mohill and he lived overlooking Laura Lake near Mohill in Co Leitrim. In fact it could be said that most of his work was in some way autobiographical as revealed in his book about his life called Memoir.
