  • It wasn't a Bill and it wasn't enacted for it was not an act of congress. It was issued by the Obama administration's cabinet. Thanks for spreading the word.

  • @ApexSerpents

Either way our rights have been taken away.

  • Reptilejones, very well spoken. I completely agree with you. Florida does have a problem with pythons, but places like New York, or Ohio, come on no way. Agree with you 110%

  • @ems7572

  • @adjusterfrank No problem. There are a lot of people out there with bad information that they got from the news media and from sources like the HSUS. The news is going to show whatever will get ratings. The truth wont get asses in the seats, but if you tell people "ZOMG! Giant Pythons are coming to eat your baby, and these weirdos are the cause!" people will watch. Even the USGS report has been ripped apart by the scientific community for being bupkis.

  • @BoolaBlue - That's crazy. I was in FL for work part of 2008 & 2009. I was located in St. Petersburg. I traveled from Ocala to Miami regularly. All I ever heard on the news was how pet owners would let the snakes go in the Everglades. This is why you cant trust the news or what you hear. Reporters only give you information they want you to hear.

    Thanks for schooling me. lol

  • @adjusterfrank Actually, 98% of the Pythons captured in Florida were proven to come from two facilities that were wiped out during Hurricane Andrews, through DNA testing. Hurricane Andrew was 20 years ago. This is not a new problem, but the state of Florida already had regulations in place, such as mandatory chipping and permits for these snakes. And no python has ever been documented killing a Florida Panther. That is just hype.

  • wow, thats their argument for snake owners who live in north. thats bs in my book i have one ball python and two columbian boas, i live in iowa and sorry theres no way those animals can live in the sewer or basements. ive been trying to tell everyone how good pets reptiles are. and now the government is trying to take that away sorry for the rambling but im pissed at the fact.. where can i go to find more info on this matter and express my thoughts about this.. every reptile owner needs to know.

  • @moneymarkj

    Thanks!

  • Another reason FL has the issue is because once they get too big to keep, many pet owners release them into the everglades. They have been known to kill the endangered Black Panthers. It is the stupidity of the pet owners that has caused the issue in FL. IMO. Nice vid.
