Some laws may seem spurious and arcane.Other laws are very logical.For example , New York City vehicle and traffic law prohibits a motorist from parking his vehicle within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.This is not rocket science here.Obviously the law is in place to save lives by creating a zone for firemen to access the water and do their job as expeditiously as possible.It is a public safety hazard to block a fire hydrant.What if a fire were to break out?
In this scene, Jimmy Justice witnesses a new york city traffic enforcement agent park her official vehicle blocking a fire hydrant.Then she goes into a grocery store and a fire actually breaks out in the next building.
The firemen have no access to the pump and they are very angry.And this officer doesnt even come out of the store to move her car, until Jimmy Justice goes inside to give her a piece of his mind.

Thank you for exposing these people who clearly have no regard for the laws which they know so well since they write the tickets for the people who also break them. :)

@kevduv92 There is a law in new york stating you are not allowed to take care of personal business while on duty. Clearly these people who have so called "important" jobs are not really doing their job, but rather taking care of personal duties. You are clearly not educated enough to understand these rules biased on your spelling in your post. Last I checked "ougtha" is not in the dictionary.

Maybe you should know the law. An emergency vehicle is allowed to park in fire lanes, or in this case near fire hydrants.

@jjjack1220 actually I do know the law. 1- an emergency vehicle can violate traffic law ONLY during an emergency. 2- In NYC , traffic enforcement officers only write parking summonses and do NOT ever respond to emergencies.
