Mercy Air Eurocopter EC 135 Steep Pitch Nose-Down Rapid Acceleration

I went up to Palomar Mountain to watch Stage 8 of the Amgen Tour of California, and watched this Mercy Air Eurocopter EC 135 make a few landings and takeoffs. I was amazed at how steeply the pilot pitched the aircraft into a nose-down attitude to rapidly accelerate (after ascending vertically until clear of the trees). We were getting ready to head down the hill and back to reality as the festivities wound down when I heard the chopper's engines spool up again. I quickly positioned myself on the edge of South Grade Road, switched my Canon PowerShot SX100 IS to movie mode, and started rolling.
