Northwestern University Marching Band (NUMB) performs Aretha Franklin's "Respect," and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" during halftime of the Northwestern vs. Eastern Michigan football game, September 22, 2009. It was High School Band Day at Northwestern, and NUMB was accompanied by more than 1,500 marching band members from local high schools.

NUMB is led on the field by Drum Majors David Saad and William Borges. Percussion captain is Josh McComas, instructed by Chris Riggs. Featured Twirler is Lauren Maginity. Color Guard Captain is Lynnanne Nguyen, instructed by Andy Toth.

Northwestern University Director of Bands is Dr. Mallory Thompson, and the Director of the Wildcat Marching Band is Mr. Dan Farris. NUMB Graduate Assistant is Ben Chamberlain. Graduate Assistants are Roderick Cox, Thomas Gamboa, Bill Staub, and Owen Tucker. NUMB is presented by the Bienen School of Music, Toni-Marie Montgomery, Dean.
