Okay, let's compare the forces.

Light has a Death Note, a crazy bitch who will do anything for him WHO ALSO has a Death Note and Shinigami Eyes, and the Shinigami who will do anything for the crazy bitch.

L has a less-than-talented team of police officers and an old man, as well as two professional criminals.

Fighting against Light is like a Little League team playing against last season's Phillies.

That's what I said...and it doesn't take all that much cunning to have Misa on your side. Misa was on his side by complete dumb luck. Light HAPPENED to kill her parents' killer, and she HAPPENED to find him AND be shallow enough to declare it love at first sight.

also, Light is proud. If he was smart, he would have given up and ignored L...and then, there would be no series, and this argument would be moot.

Therefore, our argument is a draw.

...yeah, but that doesn't give you the right to say that L deserved it. Like I said, the only real reason Light won was because of Rem...AND ONLY Rem. Had she not been there, L would have won, even if he died. First off, the 13 day rule would be proven false...and even if it wasn't, he could say "If I die before the convict does, then Light Yagami is Kira and Misa is the second Kira."

Also, Matsuda's a pretty big handicap.
