RUSH honored with 2,412th Star on the famous Hollywood Walk Of Fame Boulevard!
Hollywood Honor Coincides With Tour, Documentary and New Single
Guest speakers included Donna Halper, former radio personality at WMMS Cleveland where Rush received their first airplay with Working Man; and Billy Corgan, vocalist, lead guitarist and songwriter for The Smashing Pumpkins
6752 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Musician's Institute
Friday, June 25, 2010.

Rush -- is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and provocative songwriting.
The honor comes as the progressive-rock trio comprised of bassist-frontman Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Peart gear up for their North American Time Machine tour and pre-releasing 2 new songs "Caravan" & "BU2B" from their forthcoming 20th studio album Clockwork Angels (due spring 2011)
Just last year, a career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature praised the band for its continuing artistic vitality, noting that "It's true that Rush doesn't mean today what it did in '76 or even '96. It may mean more." Read more at www.WalkOfFame.com
About The Hollywood Walk of Fame: It began with the installation of a few demonstration stars in August 1958, the first of which was dedicated to actor Preston Foster. Officially dedicated in November 1960, the Walk now features 2,400 stars in the categories of television, radio, live theatre, motion pictures and recording. The Walk of Fame ceremonies draw international media attention and throngs of people to catch a glimpse of a favorite celebrity or Hollywood industry leader. It is one of the top tourist draws in Los Angeles and most recognizable images of Hollywood, along with The Hollywood Sign.

  • Neil Really should have been there. I'm a huge fan! I love the man I'm a professional full time Musician and this band helped shape me as a player and understand about taking music seriously and to work non stop to be the best! Neil is a very special man. I understand his aversion to the "hanger on's" and being "embarrassed by it but He should be there in a situation like this. I'm never offended by his stance on that but he should be at these events.

  • @drunkendaulie -which starbucks was that?she was in my area a long time ago and wanted to meet her, but too many people around

  • That's the damn truth too.

  • @JOHN021360 If you saw the Beyond The Lighted Stage documentary, Neil Peart doesn't really take a liking to public appreciation as much as Geddy and Alex do, so he basically sits them out. It's not like he doesn't like being appreciated for his work; it just embarrasses him when a whole bunch of people do it at the same time.

  • You should have left the camera on the stage instead of panning to the right at the end.

  • Great Footage! Thanks for posting!Congratulations Rush.

Great Job Donna!..also look for Donna's new book about Boston Radio 1920-2010.

    She's from my area. :)

  • congrats Alex, Geddy and Neil!!

  • @JOHN021360 Now if only the idiots at the Rock-n-Roll Hall Of Fame Foundation

in New York City would take some music appreciation courses and finally induct

    Rush , They've never even nominated .

Let's not forget that they got their big break in Cleveland ....

They used to play the Cleveland Agora quite a bit in 1974 ,

  • Looking at the old film of Alex for an example, you see what seems like this slightly shy pimple faced teen who looks like he was filled with angst and frustration over having an uncertain future to seeing this, and you have to go wow, look how far these guys have come. .................

  • ...............If they would have only knew how successful they would become. Sure fans like me bought their stuff and made them financially stable to say the least, but I would have never bought their merchandise if it didn't have so much quality, so in a sense they can thank themselves because of their integrity and hard work.
