  • Is this for real?

  • @Sandban1 So I've heard :-), i wasn't there at the time this was recorded so I can't say for sure. But I've been told that the organist accidentally push a button which transposed the keys or something.

  • Equal opportunity laws aside, they should never have hired the Phantom of the Opera for an organist.

  • oh my!! how embarrassing! But they, listen to the choir - they stayed in tune!! Now THAT'S the sign of a GOOD choir!

  • @patamo there are definitely transpose buttons on pipe organs. that they would be that easy to press accidentally is strange, but most do.

  • Funny, but fake. As pointed out earlier, when the song starts, the choir was accompanied by an orchestra. Then at the end, suddenly the orchestra was gone and there was an organ.

Also... there aren't "transpose buttons" on pipe organs.

    Still... nice for a chuckle.

  • What's the problem? I missed the joke.

  • Well, I guess I really am tone deaf, as I've frequently been accused of being. Frankly, I didn't hear anything wrong with the piece. But, the only singing I ever do is coming home from the bar when I'm drunk, so what do I know?

  • Funny how before the "mistake" the choir was being accompanied by an orchestra, not a pipe organ. Then the organ comes in in the wrong key and loader then the entire orchestra. I doubt it. Sounds like a hoax to me.

  • Anyone who can play a pipe organ is truly talented; everyone makes mistakes and hitting the transpose button can easily happen.

  • @ProfRikk You cant really say that a professional wouldn't make a mistake like that, because no matter how experienced you get, a mistake is something that you can't control..hitting the transpose button in the middle of a song where its not suppose to be is simply a mistake...A professional wouldn't be using the transpose button anywho.

  • @Goatmon Well, to be so clumsy to do such a mistake... a professional wouldn't do it. Besides, if you listen carefully to the singing and the plating, it will be quite clear that the whole performance is not a professional one.
