Almost Dead Turkey Vulture

It vomits for self defense. It grosses out potential predators and apparently it makes for faster getaways.

The vulture died. There were feathers on the side of the road for about a week after this. I suppoe other animals ate it.

Heard many reason as to why a vulture regurgitates. Although anything is possible, it may be another one of our reasons to try to understand the reason.

I've read that the chunks the vultures regurgitate are so acidic and stink so much, that animals won't even come close, let alon eat it.

Is the smell of the vuture vomit worse than human vomit smell? What exactly does it smell like? I've heard from people it's terrible.

They don't actually vomit to gross out predators, they vomit as a sort of offering. It's like they're saying "hey, you really don't need to eat me, here's free puke instead." Any potential predators are pretty much cool with eating a free meal they don't have to work for, rather than chasing the overstuffed bird.

They also do it when they're stressed in general, as this guy is no doubt. Best not to touch it considering their carrion diet and cleaning by urine. Poor guy, did he die after this?
