Please , people if to post here ....you are debating with a woman who has went to these auction houses and found homes for these horses...do not act like your input is any more logical than mine who still fights this and watches this daily.

Went to the Ohio Sugar Creek Auction house and rescued 53 horses recently and sent them to Last Chance Corral in Ohio to be adopted. No one can even begin to deny this happens.The slaughter does not happen in the US anymore Selling to be slaughtered-does

All auction houses on horses still sell horses to the top bidders--most who are Kill buyers and the WILL outbid you. USA Auction houses auction the horses here, Kill buyers buy them, load them, and travel the to Canada to take the same fate as in this video. Here in Ohio just 3 weeks ago 53 horses faced the same fate as a Vetrenarian passed away and his son did not want the horses...they were to be sent to auction house in Ohio and sold to Kill buyers and the trucks were waiting.

@wildhorses4ever93 ..I do not know where this took place however there are several auction houses --those are the ones you need to watch.....Shipshawanna IN, is one and the crookedest one is Sugar Creek Auction in OH. Dear...anyone who sells or auctions these horses...usually will sell to kill buyers. Take your pick. They are everywhere. Look for the clients who purchase many horses at once and look for any big trailers or double decker trucks (cattle) trucks.

@itssugarfree ---how funny can you be...No one has an issue with meat! However, I do not race my cow, or place my pig in the Olympics, ...or how about use my sheep to rehabilitate handicapped children , my chickens were not ridden into battle when cars and tanks were not available. Humans can LIVE without eating horse meat, fool. Plus the USA does not even allow us to eat the meat here. It is not even for our benefit. --Shock horror! Sufferage for funding of the "kill buyers"

@bubblinbrownsugar616 It's a very good analogy. To add: this is why the pro-slaughter faction that profits heavily, fosters the lie that slaughter bound horses are "no good." In fact, most horses sent to slaughter are young, fat and healthy, as they produce the biggest and most tender cuts of meat. Slavers had to foster the lie that Africans were "dumb beasts" and "worthless" for anything but slavery. This is how you get to perpetuate cruelty.

@binh360 They sell for $400 and less, because the kill buyer gets $500 at the slaughter plant. 200,000 horses annually are butchered ALIVE in Canadian and Mexican slaughter houses. The Jockey Club records show 124,000 foals were born last year. Only 12 made it to the Kentucky Derby. More than 50% of race horses go to slaughter, some directly from the track, some after giving even more of themselves as jumpers, pleasure mounts etc. Most TB broodmares are slaughtered when they become infertile.

Obma has now made this legal go to MSN and you'll see that and no effence to anyone from these country but france and belguim grow fat on the torment of these poor things. How would you like it if that was like your dad or someone staring up at you eyes all crooss eyed and black I say that none of our beloved pets are save anymore!!

@ingabingaboo @ingabingaboo You are an amazing person ,im so glad that british and irish racing are investing in racehorse rehab and we have great charity's that rehabilitate and re home ex racehorses & we have some great owners who keep there horses for life such as leading jumps trainer Jp mccmanus ,he belives horses are for life not just for racing ,iv seen some wonderful photos of his old horses chilling in the field & have a life of luxury.thats just 1 example of a great owner.

omg this is awful, I have share in horses in the uk and we re home ours after racing and keep up with whats happening to them and make sure they have a nice forever home but this has shocked me and made me sick, A RACEHORSE IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR RACING,

@ingabingaboo Yes, the son wanted that, but the trainers/managers did not. Many rescues were called, myself included. About 25-30 went to auction,half of that went to slaughter that i know of for a fact. I was able to rescue 7 horses and rehome them. Pretty much every horse that went to auction/slaughter was under the age of 4 (Weanlings, yearlings, two year and three year old mainly). Its sad that the son just wanted a quick buck. But, some were saved at least.

Can't they just give the horses away to people who want to make them as pets?? Heck I don't have any room or money but I would do everything in my powers to support and raise a horse.. Saves me gas money too... This is so sad but I'm a hyprocrite for eating meat like chicken,cows,pigs,pussy....

Humans can live without eating ANY meat, it doesn't matter what our relationships with the particular animals are. Horses are no different then any animal, they have just been so fortunate to be viewed as relatively useful enough throughout human history so as not to breed for the sole purpose of slaughter. It is in no way right to exclude anti-slaughter arguments to horses- 10,000 Thoroughbreds die; and, BILLIONS of other animals are butchered.

. . . don't get me wrong... but why is this so much more dramatic then slaughtering pigs... cows... chicken or whatever... I think it's hypocritical to be like "Oh no they kill them" and in the same gasp you stuff some chicken wings in your mouth... I'm not telling you to go vegetarian or vegan... but it's kinda racism... somewhere somehow...
