More at http://www.laesieworks.com/ifo/index.html#IFO-GN Can a cow fly-by-tornado? Will a cow be sucked all the way up, or will the vortex spit 'm out? Spoiler: a cow gets thrown out of a vortex. Everything heavier than air is thrown out. No cows were hurt for this experiment. This is a remake of an earlier version; better image quality and not as long.
@haeresy It indeed is about trying to understand this part of nature. And not making a vortex, but setting the right circumstances in which it will create itself.
@miz0ful Guide-vanes, yes that could help. We were trying though to make a "free" vortex, without any stuff standing around it. In the end I can say; that didn't work well. Too much turbulence and not enough spin in the surrounding air.
your slowly getting it, top -> down... wide -> narrow and show you are slowly understanding nature.

If you want more a powerful tornado, please set guide-vane on the ground.
