@rbclemen: General Public only included 2 members of The Beat (The English Beat in America): Dave Wakeling (the blond one) and Ranking Roger (the striped hair). 2 other members of The Beat went on to form Fine Young Cannibals who had a worldwide hit with "She Drives Me Crazy".
