Zöldmáli Iris field work

It is a video of one of the field training of Iris. A planted pheasant was used, which unfortunately didn't want to flush by itself.
It is a very good training for the dog though, to remain steady to flush and shot, even if the bird is so close. In Europe the pointing dogs are taught to sit or lay down when the bird is flushed. In competitions planted birds are often used, and they are not as good flyers as the wild ones, so you have to train the dog specially on these birds as well.
