@ohdoshutit i'm also definately an exraverted HSP (kind of a show-off) and NEED people to feel alive, yet have a chronic habit of isolating myself from life and people. i live with depression all the time, have high anxiety and whenever i make a stab at a 'normal' life ie. job, relatioships etc. something always goes wrong and i retreat again. that's not even going into my addictions and dependencies....

it SUCKS! i feel so doomed, i seem to have a myriad of disorders and i know i am certainly a HSP. yes, yes, i can be a good artist, musician, poet blah blah blah i know. but things don't work like that for me - i can't isolate the creative side of me and sustain a consistent work ethic to further my talent cos i'm too messed up in my life in general BECAUSE of, guess what, my excrusciating sensitivity.

I am a highly sensitive person/empath and I have read The Highly Sensitive Person and it changed my life! It is amazing, however I am going through a down time now, and its so hard because of the 20% im an extrovert.......**but I feel like im losing it. Do you think its possible to lose this?** I wouldnt want to change for the world because I feel I have an important mission in life....

I know you wrote 9 months ago and rustambayli's reply is now 8 months old but I just wanted to provide you with my thoughts.
I disagree with rustambayli's advice.That advice is like saying that you should find out where your wee comes from with nothing more than your own observations.As if reference books on anything are a waste of paper.Trying to self analyse emotions and psychology, which have no physical dimension, is even harder!
I say: ***definitely*** read the book as a guide.

@Ricciardi82
It is very difficult to determine whether he is a highly sensitive person from one paragraph of text. I can say that what you write about him does match being a highly sensitive person. You can buy/borrow Elaine Aron's book or go to her website and there is a series of questions which she has devised (based on research from thousands of interviews with people) to determine whether someone is highly sensitive. If you can, have him do it. If not, it gives you a guide. All the best!

Ahh! I can't concentrate because of her unruly left eyebrow.

@SaiYanSighT
do you know how to do 'that' without pain?

@sultanthewise
it has to do with mutation of the nervous system, you can't get rid of that, it is physiological

wow how the fuck did i end up in the 20% i hate being shy and highly sensitive it makes my life shit
Yes, very helpful, thank you. I'm very sensitive. It definitely has it's rewards but also it's setbacks. Sometimes being around people and energy which might not be so pleasant can be excruciating. But I also have tremendous compassion for others' suffering. Thanks again.
