That's a lot of work. Here's how you can get two times more tomatoes from each plant. Get 2"x4"x48" welded wire fencing, measure to make a circle 40" in diameter. Dig a hole 18" to 24" deep inside the fence circle and fill with compost. Dig deep holes outside circle and plant 4 tomato plants evenly spaced around circle. Use poles lashed to inside of fencing when plants get higher than fencing. Watch plants grow like crazy, producing more tomatoes than you ever had in your life! Give it a try.

How are you gonna work around that grid? I think you could have done without it.

Thank you for your information. It is interesting. I did similar things in my earlier years before I started the raised bed gardening. I have thought about combining the two somehow. You have made me do some thinking. I like that. Thanks again.

Thanks for your comment. I really did not have a problem working around the grid. It proved quite useful in fact. It was strong enough to support the plants themselves. I was able to keep them trimmed down and the production was pretty good for my first attempt at square foot gardening. One thing I will change is plant location though. I should not have put the cherry tomatoes in the center. When they started flourishing, it was a little challenging. Overall it was quite enjoyable. Again thanks.
