I've known about the backwards message for years,thanks to "Rolling Stone" magazine.
The perfect response to all those pinheads that think all heavy-metal music is filled with backwards-masked devil-worship messages.

there are many reversed pieces in ELO over the years,one other is on the album ELO 2,but try Mr blue sky's ending backwards theres no words but you can guess the music ,have fun.

@fairyfellermaster I agree! The first time I ever heard this, I think I was 12 or 13. The backwards message part started and I could've sworn it was shouting "down here" or something like that. Totally scared the wits out of me! I think Jeff Lynne could easily have written musical scores for Hollywood's horror film industry. :-) That's what this sounds like - a horror movie!

@angantyr86 I think what's creepy is not what he's saying as much as the way he's saying it which truth be told it is quite creepy and he's not even saying anything bad. If you heard a voice in the dark teliing you "come here, come here..." in a ddep dark voice almost whispering that would creep the hell out of anyone I would think.
