Tony Bennett hit with this first in 1951 followed by a wonderful doo-wop version by The Clovers in 1955.
The mega-hit came when Bobby Vinton recorded it in 1963, and Brenda's version of it is very similar in arrangement just substituting a female voice. But be it jazz, rhythm and blues, pop, or even just a little bit country, "Blue Velvet" is a great tune.

  • @ Nocaro In the description, you wrote: "Bobby Vinton recorded it in 1953." That didn't sound right, so I checked Wikipedia. They have it as 1963, which does sound right.

    As always, thanks for sharing.

  • @YY4Me133 Oops, that was a typo and I've corrected it. Thanks for the heads-up. BTW, I will be revising this video before the 1st of the year so don't save this one if you have.

  • Beautiful song and perfect interpretation.

  • love it thankyou.

  • What really strikes me is that David Lynch made a movie inspired solely by this song.

  • Damn, isn't this good??!!
