An Orbiter film by Unstung. Voice acting by AmericanAviator (AKA SkopeDog).
NASA's Space Shuttle Program has launched 134 manned missions aboard five different orbiters. Two of these missions resulted in disaster, losing the crew and the orbiter. The program has survived for 30 years, since 1981, until retirement.
Planned to launch on July 8, 2011, STS-135 will be the 135th and final flight of any Space Shuttle by NASA. It is using the final orbiter: Atlantis. Discovery and Endeavour have already been retired. The mission will dock with the ISS (International Space Station) and supply it for a year using the Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) Raffaello. It's a pressurized container carrying supplies and will be removed and flown back to Earth on the shuttle after undocking. The mission is scheduled to last for 12 days. STS-134 was planned to be the final flight of any Space Shuttle (before that, STS-133), but it took until relatively recently ago that the occurrence of the mission was authorized.
