god save the quenn neednt always be a durge. for examle the rendition by the royal marines which can be found in the second part of the fanfare starting at 1.26 of the second half of their beating the retreat.

All people ever here is god save the queen because of football, i bet most british don't even know about these masterpieces as they have been overlooked! This has some nice structure to it unlike the boring repetitive god save our queen, and Britannia rules the waves that is another fantastic song, i bet most football supporters won't remeber the lyrics of either songs though after a couple of beers!

BlueandWhiteZebra: Fantastic singing mate! I have been wanting to go to the last might of the proms for years, with my father. How do you get tickets? I tried a few years ago, but found it easier to get rocking horse S**T! Any ideas would be great?

Yes, find a seller on ebay with a couple of hundred feedbacks and pay through the nose. I paid 480 quid for two tickets. Alternatively try your luck on the night. The couple next to us just turned up and asked for return tickets and got lucky. Only 18 quid a head then! Good luck.
