The biggest cost to the medical system is OLD PEOPLE!! Every person who quits smoking becomes a candidate to end up as one of these waddling masses of human debris that shuffle into the doctor's office three to four time a week. I lost most of my teeth from smoking, and now my front teeth are black and rotting. Several times people have accused me of being a meth head because of what tobacco did to my teeth. I've NEVER done meth, EVER!

@kipptumor i know this is a very late reply and im not arguing the right to smoke or telling anyone not to (i only gave it away because i dont want to be an amputee)smokers just give the government another tax which costs you money aswell but the money is not the biggest problem i think when family members watch loved ones die over a period of months then the smoker may be responsible for a number of reactions.i think smokers cause alot of societies problems as do alcoholics and bum parents
