Agree , these people were special , down to earth and there songs will never die. The composition in Raag Darbari is just divine. At age 10 I sang this song on the stage in former East Pakistan and won the first prize. This was an unforgettable moment in my life. I met Talat saheb in Montreal 25 years ago and this was an honor to shake hands with him. we were both born in the same city Lucknow.

@reply2navi i think he was referring to noor jahan. i like some of noors older songs but i also prefer latas voice over noors. my personal taste.. but should not say her voice like donkey braying.. she was a great singer. among the great singers , anybody will find some songs that they will like if the just listen . age has nothing to do with music- its timeless

This song was sung twice by Talat Mahmood. The first time he said "JAGAH" instead of the word "JAGA". So, Anil Biswas called him the next day again and made him sing again. Talat's first LP has the first version but in the movie, you'll hear the second one.
