It's cute... But it's so obvious when he goes to Tarasova. His skating goes to the next level.
PS, no program should ever mix nutcracker with Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto...

He really needed a good choreographer back then. The program has this feeling that he's skating without music and it was added afterwards. Not really pleasant to watch, unlike his later programs

Wow. He had an excellent balance of artistry and athleticism even at that tender age-but by his 20's-just a total WOW. It is astounding how much more he grew as an artist while retaining his powerful quad jumps and triples. :)

the same age as i am!
and such a good an amazing skater and performer!
Look at his jumps! the elevation! height! speed!!!
and his footworks amazing...
although it did get better in the 2002 SaltLakeCity Olympics. I still cannot forget that moment
