Metal vs Non Metal

I'm well aware bands like Fall out boy and Paramore are not metal. No one has said they are. The video simply addresses those which are metal, and those who have been mistaken for metal.

This is all my opinion, so please don't get too pissed if you disagree. I actually dislike very few of the bands on the list - I enjoy many of the non-metal ones.

Well, no shit the Foo Fighters and QOTSA aren't metal. They're no more metal than bands like Jane's Addiction, Smashing Pumpkins or A Perfect Circle. They're alternative rock, so it's not as easy to label them. Same as Paramore, Panic At The Disco, Fall Out Boy and GNR...who ever said they were metal? Some of your other non-metal bands have some elements of it in their sound, and while I would agree that not all of them are very good, why should it matter how pure their metal pedigree is?

@jvondd There ARE people who claim they are metal, for reasons of either seriously flawed taste or poor hearing. The video has a purpose of demonstrating how easy it is for genres to get mixed up into one single genre. So by this logic, you can and DO get odd balls claiming QOTSA and Foo Fighters are traditional metal bands. The other purpose of this video was to inform. The very last thing I wanted to do was to insult musicians. (Excluding 1 or 2 cases which I'd now prefer to have not done.)

I dont see why you bothered to put in your opinion. Some people just arent gonna bother respecting it. I for one agree with your list but some of the "non metal" bands are good. Also death magnetic was an awesome album
