@catndryer I got to meet him one-on-one after an amazing 1-man-band concert he did in Santa Barbara, CA, 20+ years ago, and I was so in awe I really could hardly speak. If I were the jealous type, I'd be jealous that you got to know him (presumably face-to-face). I'm still hoping to get him to come play Maui, although to this day I've only found a dozen people here who even have a clue who he is!

Track 14 on the "No Category" CD is the studio version of this song. As worthy and lovely as it is, it lacks both the dedication and the narrative, as well as the awesome guitar work of Mauritz Lotz. This is it, right here, and we actually get to see Shawn's intensity and hear the appreciation of the crowd as well!!! Bravisimo!

@ktgreenway I totally understand this comment, and love you deeply for sharing it. A few people have allowed me to talk of Shawn Phillips, and they have all had a hard time understanding the tears of reverence that well up in my eyes. Oh how I long to meet people who share this depth of love!

Absolutely one-of-a-kind...........kind soul.....don't know who he is today but he and I got to know each other during my college days and it was good.....his voice could really mess with me....:)
