Shows how much he knows about them. Everyone I know who speaks fluent mandarin ends up hating them as they bad mouth everyone all the time. They always try to rip me off when i am in china. "He must be rich cos he is white" mentality. I could be a south African car par attendant for they know.

A little bit racist, yes. But considering it was written by an englishman in the 70s, it's remarkably un-racist! I think Eric Idle was being serious about liking Chinese things, actually. How else could you write such a catchy song about it?!
