  • Technology may be our downfall. If an ice age occurred, agriculture could only be possible in specialized greenhouses, of which most third world countries would not have access to. Without them, the world economy would collapse, assuming it hadn't already. Year after year, the amount of food produced would dwindle. Depending on how long the ice age lasts, the only human survivors would be a select few who could fuel their greenhouses, or those who learned how to survive, like the Inuit.

  • There's also another problem. The ecosystem consists of millions of species, the extinction of each means one less organism that could potentially survive a disaster like this or others. For millennia, civilization has attacked the ecosystem to support its own growth. Each species that is extinct as a result of its habitat being destroyed makes it that less likely the entire ecosystem could survive.

  • while it may be true that "GW and GC" has happent in the past, i think that t is aparent that people are speeding up what would have taken over 1,000 years. dont you agree? and if people are truly being taken advantage of, then there should be other evidence suporting the clame. some just think if they start charging more for energy consumton, people would use less.

  • Dexerion, sorry, misunderstood your comment, I get it now.
