Tony is a brilliant drummer, but believe me he is not in league with JoJo Mayer, its like comparing chocolate and steak.

that I will give you. But one thing Tony has over JoJo is power. JoJo kills him in intricate technique, but then again they both have their own individual styles. Tony has to be one of the Top 5 drummers in the world, with Jo being right there with him. Drumming isn't so much about technique though. The "groove" is what it's really all about. If you can't hold a groove, technique means nothing. Jo can hold the groove, but doesn't show it much.

I'm probably one of the only people with the proof to back up my drumming knowledge ( just look at the covers on my channel) and i tell u for sure that jojo has more technical ability and rhythmic independence then tony. don't go off of this video because you can't hear much and neither really pushed the envelope. search their other videos and you will see.

think about the age difference though...tony is such a monster....and a young monster at that. its crazy how good he is. but just think about all of the damn knowledge inside of jojo's head
