23 Rift Valley Mps have told their once political ally-turned foe, Prime Minister Raila Odinga to cease intimidating the Kalenjin Community under the guise of environmental conservation. The grouping which included 4 Cabinet Ministers said though they support the conservation of the Mau Forest they will not allow the Goverment to eject their people out of the Mau without proper compensation. The legislators are not amused with Raila's recent attack on retired President Daniel Moi which they say was in bad taste.

  • It is instructive that none of the big wigs mentioned as beneficiaries of the forest land have neither denied nor disowned these allegations. The compensation they are talking about is about what they own

  • Kalenjins will never accend 2 power again in KENYA. It was a fluke that kenyatta died and hence got the power but as from now on hakuna kabisa. With leaders like RUTO, and the other RUTO mmekwisha

  • These kalenjin mps r confusing everyone.Bullshit! Mau evictions don't target any community...this is moi's mess and it only makes sense for him to be quiet.

  • @Kip

Exactly. We need information and correct information to be able to empathize with the individuals wherever they come from Wajir, Loikitokitok, Sondu or Lokichoggio. The current source of information and values unfortunately has been from politicians/lawyers. Kikuyus too would be doomed if they'd follow the late Kariuki Chotara, RIP, as their role model. Politicians shouldn't set community values and standards! Thanks.

  • @ siasabora a Very good analogy of the scenario. I think part of the problems is that we as kenyans have failed to reconcile & respect different ethnic values rather we misinterpret and treat the opposing values with contempt. I know what it feels from a kalenjin perspective. How better could these leaders express their grievances other than in a prayer service. If we treat each other with respect & take collective responsibility to quench ills on our society, then we will one step forward

  • Hi KIp.

This is worrying ....these fellows are angry with their party boss and now they have brought that to the grassroots. Kip, if the two parents have differences, one then goes to their children and tells them how their 'bad' 'immature' their Dad is, the bad situation only escalates n even gets worse. That is my take!

  • I am very very sad, and I won't say why!!!

  • siasabora we meet again. what is your take on this??? i will wait for your response then respond on karuthia's comment above

  • mau is a Kenyan property not a Kalenjin one.

  • Doomed to failure as usual!

You cannot plan mischief on others and hope to succeed.

You swear by the sword and by the same sword shall you be judged!

Why do these few crack heads always pull the entire community through the mud? They're the worst thing that ever happened, and social damage they're doing to one community is irreversible!
