  • A great explanation of the various forms of Judaism that exist Rabbi! I will take this in to consideration! I bless all!

  • @arielmba Shulchan Aruch was written by nothing but a mortal man. It's only one way of looking at the Torah. Please note that the same idea of an "only one way" of being something in a religious context is the same the radical Islamists and Jew-hating Catholics have. Nothing new under the sun. Words of an ex-orthodox Jew.

  • Im sorry but I can NOT accept the idea that the mitzvot are optional!

  • Torah is the word of G-d who is eternal. He gave the Torah in wisdom. If you think the Torah has mistakes in it or is not relevant then you either don't trust G-d or you don't understand his ways and I suspect that reform Jews are in the latter camp. Read the Torah - look at the Talmud, Study Tanya. Realise that its only because of G-d's will that we are living at any moment - use your moments well.

  • Reform Judaism does change traditional Judaism - electricity, Kashrut, Shomrei Negiyah etc.

how can one feel closer to Hashem, if one is changing His word?

its like pretending to respect a parent whilst secretly (or not so much in this case) doing the opposite of what they said behind their back...

  • hi dad

  • @JoshuaIsaac89 When they answer you let me know.

  • @JoshuaIsaac89 "...they believe in trading in the Torah for secular western values..."

FYI, this is the very same basic view radical Islam has about western values.

  • @JoshuaIsaac89 Reform Jews do ask questions, it is the orthodox that do not ask questions and follow the rituals blindly. Many things in the Torah do not pertain to the present time,i.e. multiple partners, concubines and the law of sotah.

  • Reform Judaism does not speak for the Torah. If Moshe (Moses), Yeshayahu (Isaiah) or King David were here today they wouldn't agree with the Reform movement, because it rejects the authority of the Torah, the single most important foundation of the Jews and Jewish tradition.

  • You are mudding the waters. Reform Jews don't believe in asking questions about the Torah, they believe in TRADING in the Torah for secular western values. The first Reform Jewish University celebrated their graduation ceremony with serving shrimp and pork on the menu. Reform Jews don't keep the Sabbath, they don't keep Kosher, most don't believe in the singularity and ultimate influence of the G-d of Israel in the world. Reform Jews just want to be non-observant and still feel "Jewish".
