in the constitution of this country
it gives us freedom of religion
so if you say gays cant marry because god doesn't want them to, isn't that going against the first amendment?

Yeah, and the Declaration of Independence also states that "all men are created equal" (yeah, unless you happen to be a *black* man who's a slave... or nowadays a gay man...) Just words on a piece of paper.

The Declaration is not a legal document. It was a complaint and excuse for rebellion against George III. And it is quite obvious that all men are NOT created equal, despite Jefferson's flowery rhetoric. After all, Jefferson himself owned over 100 slaves, and enjoyed raping them at his leisure. And, I'm afraid, neither the Declaration nor the Constitution mention anything about faggots. Faggotism is a behavior, not a racial or ethnic group. I mean, do you come from the land of Faggotia?
LOL

1)He did have slaves but he did not rape and if he did show me the proof behind this.
2)Yes it was a complaint but we still use that document in the U.S., have you heard of
"No taxation without representation" in the news lately?
3)Faggotism?? really? thats even a word so dont portray yourself as a educated individual.
4)And no they do not come from "Faggotia" they come from your mom's vagina.

If it's not politically correct, then how do you explain what happened in California with Prop 8? Or all the other states that have outlawed gay marriage before it even had a chance to be passed? Why is it still perfectly legal for me to be fired from my job in so many states simply by coming out of the closet? Believe me, "Don't ask, don't tell" goes far beyond the military. We're the only minority group that it's still perfectly legal to discriminate against and it happens every day.

I guess I was just thinking that it's not "cool" to discriminate against gays anymore. There's really two Americas and I get them confused sometimes. I'd like to think we're becoming more tolerant and progressive, but as you pointed out in California (which should be a more liberal state), homosexuals still can't get no satisfaction.

Yeah, two Americas, due to two diametrically opposed political parties - one that wants to evolve and make changes for the better, and one that's obviously rooted in fear and wants to cling stubbornly to the past (so that nothing will ever change so they can try to retain keep all the power and money for themselves). Which philosophy seems healthier for the entire species?
