Discusses how his sense of the independent existence of physical objects collapsed. Also discusses how physicality serves as a metaphor for all separation, even within one's own psyche. Truth with non-dual teacher, Greg Goode http://www.heartofnow.com - Filmed by Roger Ingraham http://www.rogeringraham.com

  • @cybervigilante That's funny - I was just looking at my previous comment of 7 months ago, below, and it seems kind of dumb and sophomoric. We must be progressing ;')

  • @rockBuilder076 I'm reading my previous comment and what is amazing is that it seemed cogent at the time, but now it seems kind of dumb and sophomoric ;') I think I need to talk less and say more.

  • @cybervigilante Do you actually hear or see all the ravens you're talking about? So it might be that those ravens don't exist, just like the trees. Berkeley might be right after all.

  • Greg Rules

  • its Berkely and i think he includes all sentient beings in the tree metaphor. but i dont think he would say it wouldnt make a sound but rather it doesnt exist outside awareness. we tend to give more importance to sight because we imagine this tree and woods as an visual image but sight and sound are the same thing and do not exist outside the seeing and hearing. aum shanti shanti shanti

  • if no ne is there to hear a tree there is no tree or woods.if you buy into idealism then it only exists if someone is aware of it. i think idealism leads to solipsism yet i think its true and i dont think solipsism is. but it is the only verifiable thing, what i am aware of that is. but i believe that those images i see that i call people are also aware of "things"

  • Ravens are more intelligent than dogs, think creatively, and have a sense of humor. Since most forests have ravens, trees are always heard to fall. Human bodies do not have a priveleged position.

Of course, stopping at ravens is an artificial dividing line. Everything is heard. Reasoning this out, Barclay is correct, but his position is empty.

  • Thank you.
